Hard to believe where the year has gone but the summer GAA Championship will have the Today FM sports department busy for the next 5 months. The Munster Council launched their competitions at the impressive Blackrock Castle Observatory, one of the hidden gems on the banks of the Lee overlooking 'the real capital'. A galaxy of stars attended but not even the most seasoned observers were willing to stick their necks out and predict who would claim the province's sliverware.

Plenty colour and banter on the night whetting the appetite for the summer.

Friday is the new Saturday for the production team of Today FM's Championship Sunday (John Duggan and myself) for the next 5 months, as the show returns this Sunday morning from 9am. While in Cork I sat down with the affable Kerry senior football captain Kieran Donaghy, who was literally a gamechanger in 2014 as his timely return from injury offered Eamonn Fitzmaurice a right battering ram up front. Wouldn't like to be marking him either (thanks to Sportsfile's Brendan Moran for the snap below). Chat to you Sunday morning at 9am. Anything crops up of interest in the meantime tweet @todayfmsport, @paulcollinstipp or @jduggantodayfm or email gaa@todayfm.com.
