The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards were held in LA last night and although it wasn’t a normal ceremony, they managed it quite well. It was done in an outdoor setting, with very small tables of the world’s biggest stars and an indoor stage for performances.
In terms of the winners, after taking away awards for best R&B performance, best music video, best rap performance and best rap song for Savage , her collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, Beyonce made history as the woman with the most Grammy awards, with 28 awards under her belt.
Beyonce wasn’t the only one setting records because Taylor Swift broke her streak of Grammy bad luck and won Album of The Year with Folklore, which made her the first woman to win that award three times!
Billie Eilish took home the award for Record Of The Year for ‘Everything I Wanted’ however, she was a bit embarrassed to win because she felt the award belonged to Megan Thee Stallion for her song ‘Savage’ and speaking of Megan Thee Stallion, she didn’t go home empty handed, she won Best New Artist and won two awards for Savage; Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia won the Award for Best Pop Vocal Album, Harry Styles won Best Pop Solo Performance for Watermelon Sugar High and Gaga and Ariana Grande won Best Pop Duo for ‘Rain On Me’.
Unfortunately, Dublin lads Fontaines DC lost out to The Strokes in the Best Rock Album Category.
And at only 9 years old, Blue Ivy Carter is following in her parents footsteps, winning her first Grammy for her role in the music video ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
