The NME Awards were on in London last night and the big winners on the night were Coldplay who won the ‘Godlike Genius Award’. Now, Coldplay are like Marmite and some people might have something to say about them being called Godlike Geniuses but Chris Martin was very gracious when accepting the award last night and listed off all the not so flattering NME awards that the band had been nominated for when they first started out including Worst Album, Worst Haircut and Worst Band. 5 Seconds of Summer scooped the title of worst band last night and Donald Trump will be pleased to know, he was also recognised on the night as the Villain of the Year .
Do you watch Emmerdale? Well, there’s a character in it called Paddy Kirk, he has been in it for years and plays the local vet – he’s a harmless kind of character and certainly wouldn’t be one of the leading ‘heart-throbs’ in the soap. But, there’s no accounting for taste as Dominic Brunt who plays Paddy has revealed that he receives lots of steamy letters from pensioners explaining that they have ‘rumblings’ when watching him on the screen and listing all the things they’d like to do to him and from what I can gather, they are rude things. Rumblings....what a word.

So, you know the song ‘7 years’ by Lukas Graham? He’s singing about all the advice his parents gave to him as a child, about making friends and finding a wife. Anyway, he has made a little confession, after getting a bit of his stick from his Mam, she reckons she comes off badly in the song, pushing him to make friends and his Dad telling him to find a wife at 11. He said he may have used artistic license to embellish the stories a bit to make for a better song which I suppose is allowed.

Finally, an episode of The Simpsons that will be broadcast in May is going to feature a three minute live segment that will see Homer Simpson taking questions from fans. So, the scene will be made possible by motion capture technology and will make up the final part of the full length episode on 15th May. Homer is going to make reference to news events from that day to prove that it’s not pre-recorded. And, if you’ve always wanted to ask Homer a question, get thinking because fans will be asked to submit questions via Twitter the week before! I've got a question....WHY DO YOU NEVER CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES?!!!
