Unlike other celebs, he will take the hit himself

Ed Sheeran will not reclaim 80 per cent of wages from the government amid the coronavirus pandemic, which forced the temporary closure of his bar, Bertie Blossoms.

He is taking a different approach than the likes of Victoria Beckham, who is taking government grants to pay her staff during the covid-19 crisis, which has dismayed many as her personal fortune extends to hundreds of millions.

Ed Sheeran is paying his staff and all overheads from his own pocket.

The BBC has brought together some of the biggest and most respected artists from the UK and around the world for the biggest Live Lounge song in its history and now it’s heading for the UK number 1 this week.

Artists like Anne-Marie, Biffy Clyro, Dermot Kennedy, Dua Lipa, Chris Martin and many many more recorded the Stay At Home Live Lounge from their own homes, and the result was a cover of Foo Fighters Times Like These.
All money raised will go to BBC Children in Need, Comic Relief and the WHO Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
