Happy Bruce Day everyone! So many people have been waiting patiently for this day to arrive and it’s finally here! The Boss, the one and only Bruce Springsteen will rock Croke Park tonight and Sunday night and he’s ready for it! He is staying in The Merrion Hotel and was spotted prepping for the show in Flye Fit gym on Baggot St yesterday. If you are heading along the message from Aiken Promotions is to ‘get there early’ as the show will kick off at 7pm sharp. There are no support acts – this is going to be Bruce from start to finish! Dublin is going to be bedlam tonight so allow plenty of time to make your way out to the stadium because you don’t want to miss the start of the show!
The girls from Kilkenny Presentation School Choir put on a really wonderful performance at the semi final of Britain’s Got Talent last night but unfortunately, they didn’t make it through to Saturday’s final. The girls and their choir mistress Veronica McCarron should be very proud of themselves because they got on stage and gave it their all with a really gorgeous rendition of Ave Maria. The judges were very impressed by their performance, with Simon Cowell even saying it was like they were dropped down from heaven. So, on behalf of everyone here at Today FM, we just want to say a big well done to everyone involved. We’re all very proud of you!
We’ve been talking about the brand new series of Top Gear for what feels like months but it’s finally here and the all new series starts this weekend! The first episode will be on BBC 2 at 8pm and RTE 2 at 8.20pm on Sunday evening. It’ll feature hosts Chris Evans, Matt Le Blanc, The Stig and ex Formula one boss Eddie Jordan among others and celebrity guests Jesse Eisenburg and chef Gordon Ramsey. Since they began filming in October last year, the series has been dogged by rumours of on set tension, so it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out but I think a lot of people will tune in regardless.
And finally, Brendan Gleeson has been named as the celebrity most Irish people would like to have a chat with. YES! I wholeheartedly agree, I'd love to sit down and have a pint with Brendan.
