A Quiz question at the next pub quiz you attend might be - can you name the female referee who made GAA history by becoming the first women to take charge of a senior men’s inter-county game in a competitive fixture?

Well her name is Maggie Farrelly and she’s from Cavan & she took charge of Fermanagh v St Mary’s College in The McKenna Cup last night. In other words, this is a massive breakthrough!

She settled in very quickly giving four yellow cards and one red card & she spoke to Ian this morning before she started work in Belfast.
