Former Westlife star Nicky Byrne is apparently lined up to represent Ireland in the Eurovsion Song Contest in Stockholm this year. Yes, if the reports are true the King of the Key Change will be following Jedward and Dustin and taking his stool on tour. RTE haven’t confirmed the rumours and said that they’ll will make an announcement in due course. It would be the first time since 2007 that the broadcaster selected an act without a public vote. Our resident Eurovision expert Mairead Ronan is unsure whether this is going to be effective, she reckons it all depends on the song.
Saoirse Ronan appeared on The Ellen Show yesterday, ahead of the Golden Globes on Sunday. She revealed that she was getting her nails done (painted gold coincidentally) in our local nail bar Tropical Popical when she got the call to say she'd been nominated. In fairness to Saoirse, she gave Tropical Popical about a million plugs so I doubt she'll ever have to pay for an oul manicure ever again.

The rock band made €141.6 million in ticket sales in 2015, coming forth on the list of most profitable performers. They came in behind One Direction, ACDC and Taylor Swift.
