You would want to be living under a duvet not to have noticed the publicity around the new Irish movie 'Brooklyn' starring Saoirse Ronan & Domhnall Gleeson. The movie people 'in the know' think she has a really good chance of an Oscar!!
Saoirse popped in to The Breakfast Show to give her first radio interview about the movie and she was in great form.
Brooklyn is the story of a young woman, Eilis (Saoirse) who moves from small town Ireland to Brooklyn, NY where, unlike home, she has the opportunity for work and for a future - and love, in the form of Italian - American Tony (Emory Cohen). When a family tragedy brings her back to Ireland, she finds herself absorbed into her old community, but now with eligible Jim (Domhnall) courting her. As she repeatedly postpones her return to America, Eilis finds herself confronting a terrible dilemma - a heart-breaking choice between two men and two countries.
The trailer is here...
So for all about the movie, chipper wars in Howth (sorry Beshoffs, she's a Burdocks girl!) & her unusual if not amazing choice of song to end the interview, click on the interview below. She's a very charming person and yes we were all fan-girling around her afterwards.
Brooklyn is in cinemas nationwide on November 6th.
