Well, where do we start?! We arrived in Austria on Saturday evening and got acquainted with the lovely hotel, the beautiful countryside and eh.....the local taverns.Well, it would have been rude not to! After a lovely dinner, complete with the obligatory wienerschnitzel (Paul Collins), we hit The Festalm for a few pints and it was absolutely ROCKING. All the Today FM listeners were down there and they were in the mood for a party... 

We all took the opportunity for a lie in on Sunday morning and after a bit of lunch, we headed up to the slopes to check out Ian's Alpine Cabin and to see what was happening on the mountain. Helen Vaughan got her gear on and headed off skiing. We don't know if she's any good but she certainly looked the part. 

Last night, we headed down to the official 'Welcome Night' for the official start of activities and Ian got the crowd riled up (and shamed Shauna by bringing her up onto the stage). We had a great night with a bit of traditional Austrian dancing thrown in for good measure. 

Of course, this morning was the first show of the week and we kicked proceedings off in style. From Mairead's dodgy version of 'Hello' to a much better musical performance from Declan O'Rourke, we had a great laugh. Ian even managed to blag a free haircut after he got chatting to our listener, barber Stephen Kelly.
