His friend was going through financial troubles about a year ago, and she asked if Ed could put a song they had written when they were 17 on the deluxe album so she could get a little bit of money and pay the mortgage and bills and stuff.

Ed said ok – and while she was there, they ended up writing Thinking Out Loud together and now she’s stinking rich.
