Former One Directioner Zayn Malik’s first single has just been released and it's not half bad. The first release from his solo album Mind of Mine went live at 5am this morning and I’ve had a listen, I actually quite like it. It’s definitely a more grown up sound for him and he seems to be trying to shake the teeny bopper label – both the lyrics and the video are quite raunchy . He called the song ‘dirty’ ‘pure’ and ‘raw’. It features his girlfriend supermodel Gigi Hadid and they are smooching away in it. Yeowwww.
And another X Factor act that hasn’t been so lucky is Ben Haenow. The 2014 winner of The X Factor has been dropped from Simon Cowell’s label Syco, just months after releasing his debut single and has been the quickest X Factor act to be dropped since Steve Brookstein. The singles from the album just failed to go anywhere and unfortunately for Ben, it looks like Fleur East, who came second that year is going to be the hit. To be fair, she probably should have won in the first place, she was just miles slicker than Ben. He tweeted a statement last night saying that he was excited for the next chapter in his career and he is working on a new album.
Robbie Williams is up for reuniting with Take That for their 25th anniversary celebrations and Jason Orange has been approached about taking part too. The five piece that are now a 3 piece released their debut single ‘Take That And Party’ in 1992 and so, 2017 would mark their 25th anniversary. However, if I was Gary or Mark, or Howard, I’d feel a bit put out. Now, I’ve always been a big fan of Robb but he seems to pop in and pop out of the band whenever he feels like it. It’s like a bad ex that only texts you at 2am in the morning!
