What a year 1990 was. Italia 90, Nelson Mandela released from prison in South Africa and the Berlin wall was finally demolished. In the midst of all this, thousands of music lovers descended on Semple Stadium in Thurles for the event that would be a game changer for all future music festivals.

It was Féile 90

Phil asked the listeners to share their memories of the legendary event and as always, you didn't disappoint.

"Met a young girl at Féile & 25 years on we're married with 3 children" - Anonymous

"Hi Phil. Where was I this day 25 years ago? Backstage working the radio control room at Féile. It was a long and funny weeks work. After which I slept for about 2 days straight! Great times with great people!! Only a few of us still working the gigs!!'" - Anonymous

Taffo Taffe remembers Féile 90 like it was just yesterday

"Howdy Phil,

Yup, I was at Feile 90 alright! Just finished leaving cert - couldn't believe my mother let me go! I went with Barry 'Kazzer' Callan, Kevin 'Red' O'Reilly, Mark 'Blackie' Black and Colin he didn't have a nickname' McKenna!
Outstanding memories were savage performances by Something Happens and The 4 Of Us, Kevin 'Red' O'Reilly eating his Crunchie Nut Cornflakes with cider instead of milk - and our tent, which we left behind when we left and which was old, disease-ridden and held together by fertilizer bags being left standing by the security guys who were going around knocking down tents that had been left by owners. I'll never forget the pride we felt when we looked back and saw her still standing there defiantly. I suspect it's still there to this day!"
