With a new album on the horizon inspired by Tinder, who better to honour this #WomenCrushWednesday than Björk.
She announced in Dazed magazine during the week that the follow-up album to her 2015 album Vulnicura would explore "her subsequent search for utopia", stating "This is like my Tinder album. It's about being in love. Spending time with a person you enjoy is when the dream becomes real."
And that got us thinking about the times when Björk broke the mould and the reasons why we LOVE her.
Number One: She has zero time for sexism.. back in February 1994 Björk was speaking to Spain TV about issues we still face today.
Number Two: She's a serious fashionista.. who can forget her Swan Dress at the Oscars for her nomination in 2001.
UK designer Marjan Pejoshi told The Hollywood Reporter in February 2015 "She took [the dress] a step further and made an event of the whole thing by creating ostrich egg bags and laying them on the carpet. With the Oscars, there's a uniform, like the police. Bjork was definitely outside the box. Without people like her, it would be boring. Was I surprised by [the reaction]? Of course. Look at us, 15 years later and we're talking about it."
Number Three: She mixes music and art. After the disintegration of her relationship with Matthew Barney in 2013, Björk created Black Lake video and fused her music and art together.
In 2015 New York's MoMA hosted an exhibition of her career, showcasing all of her work.
She's been described by The Guardian as the "genre-defying queen of the avant garde" and we couldn't agree more.
Sidenote: she clears up here how to pronounce her name..
