The 1% Difference Campaign is changing the way Irish people help others.
During October and November, we were giving you the chance to win €10,000 - plus a €10,000 Today FM radio advertising campaign - for a cause you believe in. We were asking you to give 1% of your time or 1% of your money to a cause you believe in: charity, education, the arts...
Our judging panel reviewed all of the entries sent into PostIt and the winner is Ronald McDonal House. The entry, posted by Marian Carroll, outlines the great work that they do:
"I am the CEO of RMHC Ireland. I have been doing this job on a voluntary basis since 2004. RMHC Ireland owns and operates The Ronald McDonald House which provides accommodation, care and support for 20 families every night while their children are seriously ill in Crumlin Hospital. Volunteers help keep our costs down significantly. I am only one of 36 volunteers at The House. We are helping to make a difference to families when they need our help most. Please donate 1% of your time and help us realise our goal of #KeepingFamiliesTogether It is our intention to provide a New 50 bedroom Ronald McDonald House alongside the New National Children's Hospital."
The winner was announced last Friday on the Tony Fenton Show and Marian spoke to Tony about how much the win would mean to this charity.
