The HSE is urging people who take part in outdoor pursuits to protect themselves from Lyme disease.
It's caused by tick bites and - in serious cases - can cause damage to the heart and nervous system.
People who go camping, hill walking and mountain biking are being urged to be vigilant and to wear long trousers, long sleeved shirts and to use insect repellant.
People are also being urged to check their skin and hair and to remove any ticks.
The most common feature of the disease is a rash that develops between 3 days to a month after a tick bite.
