The humble floury bap is at risk of being forgotten.

A new survey by Jurys Inn suggests the Waterford blaa and the traditional Dublin coddle are Irish delicacies that are at risk of extinction.

They surveyed 1,000 Irish people and found that almost one in four people have never eaten a blaa while half of those surveyed hadn't tried a bowl of coddle.

43% never sampled some Boxty and in the most shocking news, 1 in people questioned had never devoured the delicious chicken fillet roll.

On the flip side, there are some dishes that will stay on the Irish menu for a long time yet. Almost one in five people indulge in some bacon and cabbage every week while 18% of Irish people said they get a helping of black pudding every week.
