A man in his 30s has died in a road crash in Co Carlow.
The motorcyclist died when his bike collided with a car between Rathoe and Ballon at Sandbook, shortly before 11 o'clock last night. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car was later found burnt out after the occupants failed to remain at the scene.
The man's body remained at the scene on Thursday morning, which is being preserved for a technical examination.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to collision to contact them at Carlow Garda Station.
Anyone with video or dashcam footage, who was travelling on the road between Rathoe and Ballon, or the in surrounding areas, between 10 pm and midnight on Wednesday night are asked to make it available to Gardaí.
The local Coroner and Office of the State Pathologist have been notified, and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.
