Housing Ministers says he was told they were "odd"

Three politicians have appeared before the Disclosures Tribunal today to say they had heard rumours about Sgt. Maurice McCabe.

The Housing Minister who was on the Public Accounts Committee investigating penalty points, said he heard the whistleblowers described as "odd."

Eoghan Murphy said he discounted this as he felt people were trying to discredit their evidence.

Earlier Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin said there were general rumours about Maurice McCabe circulating in 2014, but that after meeting him he felt what he was saying was correct.

Former Labour Leader Pat Rabbitte told the Disclosures Tribunal his Garda driver told him in 2014 Maurice McCabe couldn’t be trusted, something his former driver denies.
