Calls for humanitarian ceasefire to be respected

The UN Security Council has backed a resolution demanding a 30 day humanitarian ceasefire 'without delay' in Syria.

It came after days of negotiations between members of the UNSC.

Around 500 people are believed to have been killed in government airstrikes in the rebel held eastern Ghouta suburb of Damascus.
