We've all had them.

Even Ed Sheeran got branded when he was at school:

Us Irish are known to be good with the words and even better with the insults. Mix them attributes together and you have a creative recipe for hilarity.

Ferg asked you guys to tell us some of the hilarious nicknames they had or heard over the years.

Yiz are a cruel but funny bunch!

Here Are Some Of The Funniest Nicknames:

The surname is Marks…When I was growing up I was known as 'skid'

Ferg - we had a lad at school and we called him Miyagi. He took one karate lesson when he was 10.

Someone in the local town called clock. Because one of his arms is shorter than the other.

Best one I heard was a lad in our school his second name was Lambe! So they called him chops and when his younger brother started in the school they nicknamed him cutlets! Pat Coone, Wexford

Hi Ferg  ...was at my friends wedding and her husbands friends nickname was  Rasher ...no obvious reason e.g. big ears ? So eventually  we asked him  why he was called rasher and his answer blew us away ...." Because  I smell good in the morning "  CLASSIC.

We had a friend who was on Ireland's fittest family and when it came to throwing sand bags on top of a container he could only get one of them up and completely bottled it, he's now called "one bag Donegan"

Hi Fergal, I have a nickname for my husband "Davy Two-Times", like in the American gangster movies because instead of using the word 'twice', he'll always say "two times"

My nickname in school was Soggy, short for Soggy Boglands - my maiden name was Marsh. Pretty clever for 15 year olds! Susan in Summerhill

Guy I grew up with was called Nilzan - because the ad for Nilzan called it 'the all round dose' - and in Northside slang - a dose is a gobshite! - Aileen from Wicklow.

AND THE WINNER IS…

Fergal I seen one on a GAA page the other day I thought it was brilliant... they called him "chilli"... why? Because he was Con Kearney's son !!!  Brian Wexford
