It's the first week of November, that can only mean one thing: new Christmas ad from John Lewis!
Every year the UK retailer kick starts a slew of festive ads all with one thing in mind: no, not selling you stuff...making you cry like a baby!
John Lewis has earned a serious rep for blub-tastic ads. First we had the snowman, then a bear and his mate, the hare and last year it was Monty the Penguin. Monty, poor little Monty. We cried like babies.
This year the shopping giants have gone one step further and put an actual man on the moon (imagine how every other brand feels right now - "WHY DIDN'T WE THINK OF THAT?"). A really sweet cute old man living on his own in his little shed on the moon. Enter cute little girl back on earth who befriends the lonely old man via a telescope, throw in a version of Oasis' 'Half the World Away' and Bob's yer uncle. Oh and there's a Christmas tree, obviously (there has to be some semblance of reality to the tale!)
So there you have it. On the tear factor of 1-10, we're a measly 3. It's no Monty, is it?
