A 10-year-old boy and two women have been seriously injured in a stabbing incident in Cork City.
They were injured in an aggravated burglary which happened at around 11pm last night in the Glanmire Road area of Mayfield.
The two women, who are in their 20s and 40s, were taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment along with the young boy.
An 18-year-old woman also received minor injuries in the incident.
Gardai have arrested a man in his 50s in relation to this incident.
He is currently detained at Mayfield Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations are ongoing.
