The first festival of 2021 is set to happen next month.

It's understood the Cabinet has signed off on plans to hold the event on June 26th.

The trial event plans would see up to 3,500 people gather for the festival in Dublin's Phoenix Park.

A smaller event is also being planned in the Iveagh Gardens in June.

The good news is that other events are being planned outside of Dublin as well.

Smaller events are planned for the INEC Killarney and Limerick Concert Hall.

Under plans approved today three households will be allowed to meet up from July 5th even if they haven't been fully vaccinated.

We'll hear more from Taoiseach Micheal Martin after 6pm!
