Sinn Féin's Gerry Adams has expressed concern at reports that Traveller families, currently occupying a retail car park in Dundalk, have been told to leave by Gardai.
The TD for Louth says many of the families have already been traumatised after being evicted from the Woodlands halting site in the town.
He wants Louth County Council to work with them to ensure no more face eviction and that every effort is made to find accommodation.
At the start of March, the Council said it had sought finance to renovate the existing halting site.
