Animal Welfare Group Hears Drunk Adults Used Chicken As Football

An animal welfare group has highlighted a shocking case of animal cruelty, involving a chicken in Waterford.

On Monday evening, Waterford Animal Welfare received an urgent call from Gardai.

Witnesses had informed them that a chicken was being used as a football by a group of drunk young adults.

After arriving, animal welfare workers found the chicken cowering in a corner surrounded by beer cans.

They soon realised the chicken had its wings clipped and was unable to walk.

The Chicken was humanely put to sleep by a vet.
