A Catholic Bishop has said its wrong for a woman to get back at a rapist by having an abortion.
Dr Kevin Doran, who's bishop of Elphin, was speaking in the context of the ongoing controversy over Ireland's laws in the area.
He says the church's teaching focuses on the fact that the unborn child is a human being.
Asked whether a woman should HAVE to have a child conceived through rape, Bishop Doran cited an example he'd seen in the course of his work:
Dr Doran has also claimed that people who have children are not necessarily parents.
He say the referendum on same sex marriage, if passed, would undermine other marriages in Ireland.
He's accused the government of trying to pull the wool over people's eyes in saying that the referendum isn't about children, because a redefinition of marriage is also a redefinition of parenthood.
Dr Doran also claimed this morning that he believes 'the jury's out' on whether people are born gay, although he acknowledged he's not an expert in the area.
