A body's been found on a bog in County Meath - where a man was believed to have been secretly buried by the IRA, after being abducted and murdered.
23 year old Brendan Megraw - from Twinbrook in Belfast - was newly married when he went missing in 1978.
Today's discovery was made in a drainage ditch on a bog near Kells in Co Meath - where the Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains has been focusing its search for Brendan Megraw's remains since August.
They were uncovered by contractors who were called in to prepare the site for forensic excavations.
23-year-old Megraw was taken from his home and murdered by the IRA in Belfast in 1978.
He's one of 17 members of the so-called "Disappeared" - who were secretly buried by the organisation in the 70s and 80s.
As of yet, there is no formal confirmation that the body is that of Megraw's - however the State Pathologist is expected to begin the process of a post mortem and identification shortly.
Brendan's brother Sean said his family got a call from one of the investigators to confirm the news that they had found a body believed to be Brendan's.
He said for the family it is "good and bad news but so relieved that they've found him"
