Boris Johnson has ruled out requesting another Brexit extension, saying he'd "rather be dead in a ditch".

That's despite new laws that are about to pass that would legally require Mr Johnson to seek an extension if there's no deal by October 19th.

The issue's caused his brother - Universities Minister Jo Johnson - to quit.

He says he was "torn" between family loyalty and the national interest.

The British Prime Minister has used a speech this afternoon to again call for a general election on October 15th.
