A Canadian soldier has been shot dead at the National War Memorial in Ottawa.
Armed officers are on the streets of the city after another 2 shooting incidents.
One gunman is thought to have been killed inside the Parliament building - some witnesses say they heard around 30 shots being fired.
Police are also attending a nearby shopping centre.
All those locations are less than a mile from each other.
Officers are looking for up to 3 suspects.
A local hospital says it's received 3 patients - 2 are in a stable condition.
People in downtown Ottawa are being told to stay away from windows and rooftops.
The Canadian military has closed its bases across the country to the public.
Earlier this week a man, who'd recently converted to Islam, drove a car at 2 Canadian soldiers - killing one of them.
