Christmas Lights Go Up Over Dublin, But Won't Be Switch On Until November

There may be 75 days to Christmas but the festive lights are already going up in Dublin City.

Four crews will be working through the night, seven nights a week, to install the lights.

Clyde Carroll from business group DublinTown has told people "not to worry" as they won't be switched on until next month.

He says they've no choice but to start the "big task" in early October.

In total 150 Christmas crossovers will be installed over 50 streets in the city.

DublinTown says this festive season will be particularly important for businesses in the city centre and hope the lights will attract more Christmas shoppers to the high street.
