Deliveroo Rider Pleads Not Guilty To Teenager's Murder In Dublin


A Deliveroo rider has pleaded not guilty to murdering a 16-year-old boy in Dublin.

George Gonzaga Bento is accused of murdering Josh Dunne on the 26th of January last year.

At the time of the alleged murder, the jury panel was told that George Gonzaga Bento was living in the East Wall area of Dublin.

The deceased, Josh Dunne, was from Ballymun.

At his arraignment hearing this afternoon, Mr Bento denied murdering the 16-year-old on East Wall Road in Dublin 3 on the 26th of January last year.

He also denied producing a knife during the course of a fight and pleaded not guilty to assaulting two others at the same location on the same night.

A jury was sworn in to hear the trial, which is due to get underway tomorrow morning and is expected to take up to four weeks.
