Lyons Tea has carried out research to mark National Honesty Day revealing a quarter of us would rather sweep something under the carpet that face it head on.

80 per cent say they find it easier to get things off their chest with a cup of tea - while a quarter rely on humour. 

We also shy away from confrontation - even keeping quiet when given the wrong order at a restaurant.

And many of us head home from a night out - without telling anyone.
