Dublin is the ninth most liveable city in the world for European expats, according to a new study.

The annual report from global mobility firm ECA International looked at factors like housing, infrastructure and health services for workers who are considering relocating.

Dublin is described as a "popular hub for the expats from around the world thanks to having the benefits of a large city while also managing to avoid the negative aspects".

The city scored positively for its crime rates, air quality, culture and infrastructure.

Canada remains the most attractive country outside of Europe for Europeans to move to for the fifth year in a row.

It is described as "fit for royalty with its clean air, free healthcare, low crime and political stability".

Toronto was the highest-scoring city in Canada.

When it comes to the most liveable cities, Copenhagen and Bern were joint-favourites.

They were followed by The Hague, Geneva in Switzerland and Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

ECA’s liveability survey of over 490 cities looks at factors including health services, housing, access to a social network and leisure facilities, infrastructure, climate, personal safety, political tensions and air quality.
