A woman in her 70s has been killed in a crash in county Cork.
She had been walking on the road when hit by a car.
It happened at around 7 o'clock this evening on the R580 Kanturk to Buttevant Road.
The woman in her 70s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out.
A forensic examination of the scene is being carried out.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage in the area around the time it happened is being asked to contact Gardaí in Mallow.
