After the President signed the Marriage Equality Bill into the constitution at the end of August, Cabinet Ministers are expected to give it approval at a meeting this morning
It means we could start to see the first official same-sex marriage ceremonies here by the end of the year.
The cabinet are expected to approve the constitutional changes before putting it to the Oireachtas for a final vote.
Ministers are also expected to get an update on Ireland's economic situation this morning, with just a few weeks to go to the Budget.
The Minister for Finance Michael Noonan will outline the details and its reported he will reinforce the message that there's no room for manoeuvre outside the planned 1.5 billion euro spending target for 2016.
