The former Quinn glass company in Co Fermanagh has been sold to Vidrala - a Spanish container glass manufacturing company - for over 400 million euro.
Aventas Manufacturing Group Limited has announced that following a comprehensive sale process - which they say attracted very considerable interest - Encirc Ltd has been sold to Vidrala.
The transaction - which involves Encirc's manufacturing plants in Derrylin and Elton as well as the filling operation at Elton - has been completed for a total consideration of 408.6 million euro.
Over a thousand people attended a public meeting in Ballyconnell in Co Cavan on Monday night to express concern about the future of local jobs if the former Quinn Glass was sold to a foreign entity.
That followed weekend reports that the preferred bidder was Spanish Company Vidrala.
