There have been four more confirmed cases of the coronavirus here.

Four people from the same family in Co. Clare tested positive for Covid 19 after returning from Northern Italy.

The two males and two females are the first cluster here and brings to 6 the number of confirmed cases in the Republic.

Dr Tony Holohan, chief medical officer with the Department of Health, said contact tracing is underway for these four new cases.

There are now six cases in the Republic and three in the North.

Any person concerned that they may have symptoms should immediately isolate themselves from others and contact their GP by phone.
