Members of the elite Garda Armed Support Unit are to be stationed in Cavan from Monday.

The Garda Commissioner says all possible resources are being used to investigate the attack on Quinn Industrial Holdings director Kevin Lunney last week.

Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan visited the company's headquarters earlier to discuss over 70 serious incidents against Quinn workers on the Cavan-Fermanagh border.

Officers investigating the attack on Mr. Lunney are seeking information on a white 'hi-roof' transit type van, described as being in poor repair, with a red floor, which may have a loose 'screeching' fan belt.

Speaking at a Cross Border Organised Crime Conference in Cavan, Commissioner Drew Harris says extra Gardaí are being sent to the area.

Drew Harris rejected claims Gardaí could be doing more.
