Gardaí have identified the man who's partially dismembered body was found in Cork city on Saturday evening.
He's been named locally as 64-year-old Francis Dunne.
It's believed the victim had engaged with homeless services in the city.
His remains were found outside a deserted building not far from the city centre.
Gardaí believe the body may have been there for a number of days.
A murder investigation was launched yesterday, after the scene of the discovery was examined by forensic teams.
