A couple have drowned in Carrick on Shannon in Co Leitrim.
The bodies of the man and woman were taken from the River Shannon this afternoon.
The couple - who were in their 30s has been living in Germany - were reported missing earlier this morning.
Gardai say they had hired a cruiser on the river.
The body of the man was located in the river close to the hired cruiser at 2pm this afternoon and the woman's body was later recovered.
Both of them have now been removed to Sligo University Hospital where post mortems will be carried out on Monday
Gardai say at this stage the deaths are being treated as accidental.
