The government will vote against approving the €1.5 million pay package of the Aer Lingus CEO at the airline's AGM today.
The Minister for Transport's objecting to a proposed pension increase for Christoph Mueller, which would see the employer contribution rise from 25 to 40 per cent of his base salary.
A statement from his department says they've engaged intensively with the airline about it, and expressed 'strong concerns'.
It comes amid ongoing controversy over the pensions of other employees at the airline.
