Gemma Dwyer has told her husband's trial for the murder of childcare worker Elaine O'Hara about a letter he wrote last year urging her not to believe gardai.

The father of three from Kerrymount Close, Foxrock denies stabbing the 36 year old at Killakee Mountain in Dublin, in what is alleged to have been a sexually motivated attack.

At times Gemma Dwyer's voice trembled during her evidence which lasted just under an hour.

The jury heard she and Graham Dwyer began dating in 1997 as architect students at DIT Bolton Street.

Speaking of more recent years she said her husband would go to his model aeroplane club on Wednesday afternoons but she has no specific recollection of Wednesday August 22nd 2012 – the day he's alleged to have murdered Elaine O'Hara.

She also gave evidence of a letter she received from her husband last February in which he urges her not to believe gardai who he says have no evidence apart from his name and someone else's phone number in that awful girl's dary.

He said he did know her, he'd saved her life once, but that there was another man involved.

He said she committed suicide and this man who was into Real Madrid and pink underwear disposed of items on her behalf.
