A man and woman have been arrested after Police in the North seized 515,000 euro worth of herbal cannabis.

Over 250,000 euro worth of the drug was seized after a car was stopped on the M2 this afternoon.

Properties were also searched at Shore Road, Belfast and in Newtownards as part of the investigation.

In a follow up operation over 256,000 euro worth of the drug was discovered in County Antrim.

A 33 year old man and a 32 year old woman were arrested on drug offences and money laundering.
