HSE Are To Consider Dropping All Restrictions On Maternity Hospitals

A meeting is taking place this afternoon to discuss whether all remaining maternity restrictions can be removed.

The campaign group, Better Maternity Care, is holding talks with the HSE.

Partners are still not able to accompany pregnant women to most maternity appointments.

Linda Kelly, from Better Maternity Care, says currently women can bring a loved one to the 12 and 20 weeks scans, othersie they are on their own.

"We can't end restrictions in hospitality and say the pandemic is over but continue to have restrictions in health care services."
