Hundreds of Brendan Grace fans lined the streets of Dublin today to pay their respects to the Irish entertainment legend.

His funeral mass took place at St. Nicholas of Myra Church on Francis Street this afternoon.

The entertainer died last week after a battle with lung cancer.

Well-known personalities including Brendan O'Carroll, Dickie Rock, Twink, Bertie Ahern and Niall Quinn were among the mourners.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and President Michael D Higgins were also represented.

In his homily, Fr. Brian Darcy said Brendan Grace had only one vocation, and that was "to lift the gloom of the nation".

Brendan's children Amanda, Melanie, Bradley and Brendan Patrick paid tribute to their father, with Melanie saying the lives he had touched "have been forever changed".

A private cremation was held following the funeral mass.
