An independent review into data breaches from the Police Service in Northern Ireland has been announced.

It follows a number of incidents including 'human error' leading to details about 10,000 staff and officers being accidentally sent out as part of a Freedom of Information request.

That information is believed to be in the hands of dissident republicans who also posted redacted elements of the details on a wall in west Belfast.

Another one of the four data breaches included a notebook and laptop falling off a moving car on the motorway last week.

Today, the policing board in the north met for the second time since it emerged about the data breaches.

The chair of the group announced what's been described as an "independently-led end-to-end review".

The final report on this is expected at the end of November.
