Jimmy Kimmel Will Be Back On Air Tonight
Jimmy Kimmel Live will be back on air tonight.
The host was suspended last week after allegedly making remarks about the murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
Disney, which owns network ABC, says it took the show off air to "avoid further inflaming a tense situation" - though it's been accused of stifling free speech.
Prominent actors, musicians and comedians like Ariana Grande, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ryan Reynolds, Chaning Tatum and Barbra Streisand, signed a letter warning of free speech dangers.
Jennifer Aniston, Robert DeNiro and Olivia Rodrigo were among other names on the list.
David Smith, Washington Bureau Chief of The Guardian, believes that made a difference.
"There was a surge of Google searches [with] people saying they were looking to cancel their subscriptions to Disney [Plus] and Hulu, who are part of the same company as Jimmy Kimmel Live and ABC".
Donald Trump previously denied any involvement in the decision to take him off air, falsely claiming it was to do with the host's ratings.
Last Monday, Kimmel claimed that Donald Trump's supporters were using the shooting to score political points;
"We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kiri as anything other than one of them, and do everything they can to score political points from it."
Eyes will now be on what the host will say during tonight's show.
