Joe Healy has been elected the new President of the Irish Farmers Association.
The dairy farmer from Athenry in Co. Galway was deemed elected on the first count at the IFA count centre in Castleknock in Dublin.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Healy said the organisation needed to be rebuilt, in the wake of a damaging controversy over salaries paid to the organisation's executive.
