The jury is on its second day of deliberations in the trial of a man accused of a double murder in Grangegorman 18 years ago.
Mark Nash, with last addresses at Prussia Street and Clonliffe Road, Dublin denies killing Sylvia Shields and Mary Callanan in March 1997.
The trial heard 61 year old Mary Callanan and 60 year old Sylvia Shields were killed in sheltered accommodation attached to St Brendan's Psychiatric Hospital in March 1997.
During the trial, the jury heard Mark Nash confessed to the killings in August of that year - he subsequently retracted the confession saying it had been produced by gardai.
Another man Dean Lyons, who died in the year 2000, also admitted to the killings, a charge was brought against him but was later dropped.
The case has been at trial for nearly 3 months.
The jury began its deliberations yesterday – they'll continue this afternoon.
