A jury has been shown CCTV footage which appears to show a man accused of murder in Co. Kildare running from the scene with a baseball bat.

44-year-old Zoltan Almasi of Harbour View in Naas denies killing Joseph Dunne on May 16th 2014.

A post mortem revealed Joseph Dunne died from a blunt force trauma to the head.

Gardai believe Zoltan Almasi attacked him with a baseball bat after the 20-year-old hit his van, which was parked outside his house

The jurors have been shown some CCTV footage which was collected and analysed by Sergeant Dara Divilly.

He said the victim can be seen sprinting down a street near Mr. AlmasiÂ’s house.

The accused then comes into the frame and is running in the same direction.

Sergeant Divilly said he can be seen raising his right arm and appears to be running away from the area with a baseball bat just a few moments later.

A number of the victimÂ’s friends were also in the footage.

They'Â’d travelled to Naas from Athy earlier in the day and were on their way home when the alleged murder took place.

Mr. Almasi, a Hungarian national who was working for a courier company in Ireland, denies the charge.
